Análisis preliminar del pedigrí de las razas bovinas lecheras Jersey y Brown Swiss en el Ecuador

Resumen

Abstract— The objective of this study was to determine the levels of inbreeding in dairy populations of Jersey and Brown Swiss in Equator. For the estimation of inbreeding coefficients of animals a data base of 14457 records of Jersey and 59871 records of Brown Swiss was employed, from which 9745 and 6159 records of pure animals from both breeds were used. The analysis of the pedigree was made with CFC program. The means of the inbreeding coefficients of the whole population were 0.29 % and 0.12 % for the Jersey and Brown Swiss, respectively. The means of the inbreeding coefficient on the inbreeding population were of 7.5 % and 5.3 % in Jersey and Brown Swiss, respectively.
