ICC as a communication instrument for patients in a vegetative state

Abstract
This article aims to introduce and present brain-computer interfaces (BCI) as a communication system with people in a vegetative state. Using signals from mental functions created by the brain, we can exchange questions and answers, tasks and reactions, and generally interact with people who lose their standard communication capabilities. By some definition, the vegetative state describes the behavior of the observer. A BCI is typically implemented using electrodes to capture EEG signals, which are applied in feature extraction and classification methods.
