Analysis of the Scientific e-visibility of Researchers at Universities in Zulia State (Venezuela)in Google Scholar
Main Article Content
Abstract
A descriptive bibliometric analysis of the e-visibility of researchers from four universities in the state of Zulia, Venezuela, is presented: the University of Zulia (LUZ), the Dr. Rafael Belloso Chacín Private University (URBE), the Rafael Urdaneta University (URU), and the Dr. José Gregorio Hernández University (UJGH). Using data from Google Scholar profiles, quantitative indicators such as total citations, the h-index, and the i10 index were evaluated. The results reveal a marked hierarchy in scientific production and impact, with the University of Zulia (LUZ) positioning itself as the leading institution with a substantial difference in all the metrics analyzed. URBE follows with a consolidated research community, while URU and UJGH show emerging visibility. The analysis highlights the importance of Google Scholar as a tool for measuring scientific impact and the need for institutions to promote digital identity management to enhance their visibility.
