Abstract

At present there is little research that allows us to describe and identify the predominance of the strengths and virtues of the development of the military bearing of the infantryman of the Ecuadorian army, for this reason, the present research aims to determine the main virtues and strengths that constitute the military bearing of the infantryman. For the collection of data, the test of Strengths and Virtues of Values in Action by C. Peterson and M. Seligman, created in 2003, was applied to 77 soldiers of the Infantry Battalion of Motorised Infantry 13 ‘Esmeraldas’, aged between 21 and 40 years old. The data were processed in the statistical programme SSPS-20 and Microsoft Excel. The results showed that the main strengths and virtues that constitute military bearing in the infantryman are transcendence, knowledge and temperance, which are strengths such as curiosity, judgement, intelligence and perspective.
