The "Revista Internacional de Ingeniería de Estructuras" began publication in 1996 to address the need for high‑quality articles on Structural Engineering in Spanish. Its purpose is to encourage the publication of articles on topics such as Seismic Hazard, Vulnerability and Risk; Structures with seismic isolators or energy dissipators; Steel and reinforced‑concrete structures; Seismic retrofitting of structures, among others. The journal has been in existence for 30 years and has established a strong position among researchers in Spanish‑speaking countries. It initially published two issues per year and now regularly publishes three.
