Abstract

Currently, there is irrational use of electrical energy in homes due to the inclusion of electronic equipment in daily activities and poor consumption habits, such as leaving lights on in unused areas and equipment in standby mode. Global trends in caring for the environment require measures to contribute to energy saving and reduce the impact generated by producing it. Therefore, it is impossible to ignore the consumption of medium-power electronic equipment in standby mode. Although individual consumption is relatively low, the sum of each electronic device is a value to be considered. This article aims to guide the design and implementation of a standby power suppressor for medium-power electronic equipment. It also provides a clear idea of the energy and economic savings it could generate when implemented in homes and offices.
