Transformational Leadership in Educational Institutions: Impact on Academic Performance and School Climate.

Abstract
The present synthesized research in this article on Transformational Leadership in Educational Institutions: Impact on Academic Performance and School Climate, was developed based on a critical moment of the Covid-19 pandemic in Ecuador and comparing its leadership with the educational system in Finland. The objective is: To recognize the importance of transformational leadership in educational institutions, due to its impact on academic performance and school climate. A documentary review of the circumstances during the pandemic (2020-2021) was carried out, analyzing official information from international organizations and comparative studies between Ecuador and Finland. Reports from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, published academic studies, and official data from both countries were used, focusing on the use of educational technologies, adaptation to virtual learning, and leadership strategies implemented during the pandemic. The results show that transformational leadership in Finland, with a focus on student autonomy and collaboration, allowed more effective transition to virtual education, overcoming challenges for educational institutions in each country and ways to face transformation in education. An analysis is made and the conclusions that endorse that institutional leadership must have the vision of transformation to create the conditions and the ideal teachers to satisfactorily respond to the expectations that education must give to its students, it is essential to overcome crises and build more inclusive education systems prepared for future challenges.
