Main Article Content
Abstract
The main objective of this research is to determine the importance of recreational physical activities in the free time of higher education students. For this purpose, the research was developed from a quantitative approach using the survey technique as the primary data collection method. The results showed that most of the respondents considered that physical recreational activities are very important for students in times when humanity is sedentary. In addition, it was identified that there is a high interest in collective outdoor recreational sports activities, becoming the most popular among university students. It was discussed that physical recreation can be a valuable tool to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among college students, thus contributing to their overall well-being and preparing them to face future challenges with greater resilience and well-being. In conclusion, the study highlights the importance of promoting healthy recreational activities for the leisure time of university students, which will have a positive impact on their physical, metal, emotional and social health.
